Greenside church is a daughter church of St Cuthbert's in the west end, and was built to a design by the architect James Gillespie Graham, opening it's doors on Sunday 6th October 1839. Amongst many notable ministers and families one deserves particular mention. The poet and novelist Rober Louis Stevenson was brought up as a boy in the congregation where his father and grandfather were elders.
