Exile

Origin's band, orchestra and choir are called Exile. We have performed in events around Scotland in venues as diverse as the tiny chapel at Carberry Towers and the enormous Highland Hall of the Royal Highland Society at Ingliston. Our regular larger-scale Edinburgh events are held in the Usher Hall, a 2,200-seat concert hall in the centre of the capital city. We have also performed in the Edinburgh Playhouse, Festival Theatre, Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Aberdeen International Conference Centre, and outside Scotland at Belfast's Ulster Hall and the City Hall in Cape Town.

We recorded our first album, un|broken, in January 2009 and you can read more about it and listen to excerpts or order online on our new album page.

Our choir is predominantly a youth choir, recruiting those between 18 and 35 years old to join us in Exile. There are no auditions, but you do need to be able to sing! Musicians who would like to join the Exile Chamber Orchestra can also register online. Experience, and a minimum standard of grade 7 or 8 ABRSM is required.

Inclusion in any Origin programme is at the discretion of the organisers.
